Meet the brigade: every chef has a knack

Kitchen Rush has eight chefs, and none of them is good at everything. Each one is quick at a station or two and slower at another, so where you put them matters as much as how many you have.

Where they shine

• Lukas: prep.
• Bao: cutting, and handy at the sushi bar.
• Amélie: the sushi bar.
• Marcel and Rosa: the hot line.
• Inès: the pass.
• Fatou and Theo: the dish pit.

Reading a chef

You do not need to memorise any of this. Put a chef somewhere new and watch how fast the work comes off their zone; a slow zone shows on the trays and the tickets within a few orders.

Too few chefs, on purpose

The game is called Understaffed for a reason: an episode gives you three, four or five chefs for a kitchen that wants more. Someone always has to cover two jobs, and the trick is choosing who, and when to swap.
